Putrajaya, July 6th, 2025 - Over 202,000 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) students worldwide received their results from the May 2025 examination session.
As more families seek high-quality international education beyond their home countries, Malaysia continues to gain recognition as a preferred destination. With English-medium instruction, globally respected curricula like the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), and a safe, culturally rich environment, Malaysia offers strong academic support at a more accessible cost. These advantages have led to a steady rise in international enrolments鈥攑articularly from North Asian countries such as China, Korea, and Japan.
This upward trend is reflected in the release of the 2025 IBDP results, which saw both Malaysian and international students studying in Malaysia once again outperform the global average. Their strong performance reinforces Malaysia鈥檚 growing reputation as a hub for internationally benchmarked education.
As one of the top-ranked international school offering IBDP in Malaysia, Nexus International School achieved an average score of 33 points, exceeding the 2024 global average of 30.3. The IBO is yet to release the world average for 2025. The school also reported seven students scoring 40 points or more鈥攁 benchmark of exceptional achievement in the programme.
Among these top scorers are two students from Korea, two from Japan, and three Malaysians鈥攔eflecting the school鈥檚 diverse and high-achieving community. Further to this, 60% of the top scorers are long-term Nexus learners who have been with the school for an average of 6 years, while 30% are Nexus boarders, highlighting both academic consistency and the strength of the residential learning environment.
Graduates from Nexus continue to gain admission into top universities around the world, including those in the UK, US, Australia, Japan, Korea and across Europe and Asia鈥攖estament to the school鈥檚 commitment to preparing learners for success on a global stage.
As the 2025 IB results make headlines worldwide, the strong performance of Nexus International School highlights Malaysia鈥檚 growing presence in the international education landscape鈥攕ignalling a shift in how the region sees its role in preparing future global citizens.

The International Baccalaureate庐 (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is for students aged 16-19, recognized and respected by the world鈥檚 leading universities. The IB Diploma Programme is made up of six subject groups and the Diploma core, comprising Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay (EE). Through the IB Diploma core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.
